DA CONNECT

A group of solo artists from all over the South, Da Connect is the second generation of the Dungeon Family, the original home of Outkast and Goodie MOB. Backed by Rico Wade and the Organized Noize production team, Da Connect is ready for whatever the game has in store for them. All the artists within the group contribute a piece to the puzzle. When Carolina native Infinique got out of prison, he linked up with Rico Wade and switched his hustle to the music game. G-Rock and MC Smooth have appeared on many Dungeon family albums throughout the years. Of course, in every group you’ve got to have the ladies’ man, and in this case it’s MC Smooth. "He brings us the groupies," laughs Infinique. G-Rock is featured on Big Boi’s album "Speakerboxx" and Cee-Lo’s most recent project. Blvd is another solo artist making big moves for the group. Meathead, despite being the youngest member in the group, is described by others as "murderous on the mic." The five MCs have all been grinding independently for years, but it wasn’t until two years ago that they linked up officially. Their self-titled underground album came out September 16th, and the official release is scheduled for the beginning of 2004, featuring Witch Doctor, Roscoe, and Goodie MOB’s Big Gipp and Khujo. G Rock and MC Smooth, collectively known as the duo Cham Don, have a single with Ludacris called "Georgia Dome" (not to be confused with the Ying Yang Twins’ song of the same name) getting airplay. "We cut songs all day," they agree. This team is overflowing with material, with cuts like "Everyday Hustler" and "Feel the Fire" circulating throughout the South. "We’ve been waiting for our time to break loose and shine," says Infinique, "It’s really our time, right now we’re just ready to work. That’s how you gotta be though – hungry and eager!" – Mikhale "Miki" Richards
