The who’s who of Atl came out tonight for Bun B’s listening session at Patchwerk Studios. Trill O.G. is an impressive and honorable listen. Personally, I think this third Trill album is better than II Trill, and I overheard whispers from others who felt the same way. Appearances by Trey Songz, 2Pac (new verse I’m told), Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, Drake, Twista, etc. are definitely ear-openers, but it’s Bun’s aggressive attack on every beat that makes Trill O.G. worth the purchase. Album scheduled to drop August 3rd.

Here’s the behind the scenes footage from Drumma Boy’s “I Got Em” video featuring Gucci Mane & J Futuristic-Money. By the way, Drumma’s rap name is D Boy Fresh, and Gucci Mane shot this video minus the jewelry. A rare non-icey look. Video directed by Jordan Towers Films, behind the scenes by me (Ms. Rivercity).

I tagged along with Strange Music artist Kutt Calhoun the other day for his Atlanta performance. Kutt has been rapping alongside Tech N9ne for about the last 10 years. Right now he’s on tour with Suburban Noize promoting his solo album Raw and Un-Kutt. He has a pretty impressive fanbase. Check out the video footage above (sorry, the lighting crew was kinda wack), and photos after the jump.
The Hot Block Magazine Awards were held in Atlanta last Monday and we were shown a lot of love. It’s nice to see other magazines supporting other magazines. Sorry this footage is so late, I’ve been working on our Miami Memorial Day Issue. Anywhoo, some of the attendees included Alley Boy & Big Bank Black of Duct Tape Ent, Parlae & Dem Franchise Boys, Maceo, DJ Unk, Big Jigg, D J Ace, 4 Tre & SYS Records, many many more. I didn’t pay attention to who won, but I did get some video (above) and some pictures >>> (more…)
Just happened to catch Drumma Boy tweeting about being in the studio with Wiz Khalifa right now. Not sure what they’re working on exactly, but Drumma says, “This n—- SNAPPIN… we on some 2010 #REGULATOR SHYT.” Drum’s also been in the studio with Jeezy and Rocko lately, and pretty much everyone else.
Grand Hustle is doing their monthly Hustle & Flow Showcase at Club Obsessions in Decatur now. They linked up with AllHipHop.com for last night’s edition and the turnout was great, especially for Club Obsessions which is far as hell from everything. Young Dro and the Grand Hustle cast were present, including Lil Duval and his mystery date, Big Kuntry, Baby Boy, Bola, and Spodee. OJ da Juiceman was chillin in VIP along with Zaytoven, Sig HB, and 4 Tre. I wonder why OJ wasn’t wearing any jewelry, hmmm. Mostly indie acts performed with Dro as the headliner rockin’ his new hit “Freeze Me.” If you’re not on that yet, you’re late. Shouts out to @SteveRaze from AllHipHop for showing the Atl some love, and @Tracye_BigDeal for always looking out. – Ms. Rivercity
Randy posted some video footage a few blogs down, but it didn’t include photos of Travis Porter & their goofy faces. Plus he didn’t really comment on the movie. Anyway, the short film was pretty good. Very nice camera work, and although the storyline was a tiny bit hard to follow, the movie painted a good picture of who Travis Porter are as individuals. These guys are like my lil bros so I wasn’t too comfortable seeing them all half neked, but the teenage girls in the audience were. Screams everywhere. Check out the rest of the pics here >>> (more…)
Recently Block Ent held a listening session/meet & greet at their studio. In attendance were Gorilla Zoe, Supplya, Jody Breeze, Zaytoven & The Eragance, Princess, DJ Scream, DJ Scorpio, a ton of bloggers/media/A&Rs, and some of the best catering from Justin’s (mmmm macaroni & cheese). Supplya got a lot of good feedback from the audience, many of whom were just meeting Supplya for the first time. Check out the rest of the pics when we continue…. (more…)
We first premiered this song over the summer, and since then Soulja Boy added a verse and the song is playing on the radio. They shot the video on Friday and we were there for some behind the scenes footage. Check the rest of the pics when we continue (more…)

Eldorado Red has a habit of dipping in and out of the music scene, but he also has a fan base that forgives his elusiveness time and time again. Bubbling back up in the underground, Eldorado released the mixtape Black Gangster with DJ 5150 recently and a new song with Zaytoven. The above video clip outlines some of Eldorado’s past history and upcoming projects, but if you want the full, in depth scoop on Alabama’s great hope, keep reading. Eldorado had a lot to say about the street life compared to life portrayed in rap music, and he also explains his new collaboration with Alley Boy which raised a few eyebrows.
We’ve been sitting here talking about your history in the game and there’s some key elements in your career that people might not be aware of – you had a situation with Rick Rock, the producer…
Yeah, shout out to Rick Rock and the whole Federation and the Bay Area. I was out there fuckin’ around for about four and a half years. I was working on a solo project with Rick Rock – we actually put out an independent album with Fontana called The Eastside Rider. The Federation situation didn’t work out so my solo project never came out. But I was out there grindin’ wit’ Rick Rock for a minute. That’s the first little bit of rap industry shit I ever experienced. At the time, he had just did the Jay-Z record “Change the Game,” he had the Busta Rhymes record with Mariah Carey, he had a lot of big records.
What was your game plan after that situation was over?
After the deal got fucked up, I came back to Alabama, to the streets. I knew Rick Rock from Alabama – he was originally from the Bay Area but we both had family in Alabama. We knew each other before he had blew up in the production game. So I went out there and tried to make somethin’ happen. But you know, every situation ain’t the right situation. When you tryin’ to fit in to someone else’s program, but at the same time, you patiently waitin’ to do yo thang, then your success is basically depending upon if these people pop off or not. When The Federation’s success wasn’t what the label expected, they got dropped from they situation, which domino affects everything else.
So you quit the game for a minute?
I ain’t have no plan – my plan was to go back to where I started, back to the block. I had said fuck the music thang for a minute after that. I came back down south and kinda reinvented myself and that’s what we got today. >>>>>(more…)

In the last month, he’s appeared on Worldstar and in Laurence Fishburn’s daughter, but aside from his porn flicks and music videos, you probably don’t know much about B. Pumper.
