BallerStatus.com reports -- Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie was handed down a steeper sentence on Monday (November 9), after he failed to abide by a judge's orders after being sentenced for a third-marijuana offense back in September. According to local news station WAFB, district Court Judge Chip Moore violated the rapper (real name: Torrence Hatch) after he learned Boosie left his home while supposedly on house arrest. His ankle monitor that kept tabs on him indicated he left his home restriction on more than one occasion. As a result, his original sentence was doubled. When 26-year-old Boosie pleaded guilty to a third-offense marijuana possession charge in September, Judge Moore ordered him to be electronically monitored, but said he would clear his concert dates with the court while awaiting sentencing. Under a plea deal, the judge was expected to sentence Hatch to 10 years in prison with all but the first two years suspended. Meaning that he would likely serve just one year in prison. But now, because he has violated the post-plea terms, the judge sentenced him Monday to 10 years with all but the first four years suspended. Meaning, he'll now serve two years, instead of just one. "The max he would do is two years," East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore III told local ABC affiliate WBRZ News 2 after court. Judge Moore told Hatch, "I really hope that you get it straight. ... You have the ability to change people's lives for the better, including your own." Additionally, Boosie will be on probation for five years after he is released from prison. The rapper was arrested in October 2008, when police found a bag of marijuana, a blunt, and a gun in a vehicle he was driving. The marijuana charge was his third, which is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The weapons charge carries a mandatory minimum five-year term, but it will be dropped once he completes his prison term and probation. The rapper recently released his second solo album, Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz, his first new album since 2006. Boosie told MTV last month that once he is freed from prison, he'll be dropping a new album, titled Free At Last. Source: BallerStatus.com

DNA results from the two year rape trial of DJ Hollyhood Bay Bay do not match the industry veteran. Hollyhood Bay Bay, real name Terrance Stewart, was arrested in 2007 and charged with one count of rape and intimidation of a witness. According to prosecutors, the DJ raped a woman who was found drunk and unconscious on the second floor of club Kokopelliâ€™s, located in Shreveport, Louisiana. The ensuing DNA test used semen retrieved from the alleged victim, and the couch where the crime occurred. â€œI believe everything happens for a greater reason and purpose. I was terminated from one station, only to be recruited by the fourth largest black radio station in the country, so there are no hard feelings. â€œIâ€™m just ready to conclude this chapter in my life and get back to what I do, finding the next multiplatinum success story. Bay Bay previously gained national recognition courtesy of Hurricane Chrisâ€™ hit tribute song â€œAy Bay Bay,â€ which was inspired by fans who would chant the DJâ€™s name at club appearances. The rape accusation has proved damaging to Hollyhoodâ€™s career over the last two years. - The fallout resulted in him being terminated from his position at Shreveportâ€™s 103.5 The Beat, and losing his longtime club MC position at Kokopelliâ€™s. He later signed on to Dallasâ€™ KKDA 104.5, and maintains a weekly radio slot from 3PM from 7PM. Despite the serious accusation that has lingered over his head, DJ Hollyhood Bay Bay feels heâ€™s been blessed with a better opportunity in Dallas and is hopeful the charges will soon be dropped. "This entire situation is unfortunate, but all I can do is continue to live my life until it is over and I am fully cleared of all charges,â€ added DJ Bay Bay. Since relocating to Dallas, the DJ assisted rapper Dorrough in closing a deal with E1 Music. On the community service front, he founded Bay Bayâ€™s Kids, which aims to decrease high school dropout rates through education-focused speaking engagements and camps. At press time, Caddo Parish District Attorney Brady Oâ€™Callaghan has not dropped the rape charges against DJ Hollyhood Bay Bay.
