Last week J. Cole and Wale performed in front of a sold out crowd at Centerstage in Atlanta, GA. We already posted video footage from Wale’s show, but here’s a video of J. Cole’s set. If you missed this show last week, you missed a good one. A link to Wale’s performance is below.
Warner/Asylum recording artist Lyfe Jennings held a private listening session for media and special invited guest on Tuesday at the Havana Club in the Buckhead division of Atlanta. Lyfe came in a little later than the scheduled time, but he did not disappoint the media or invited guest, by taking the stage and singing a few songs.
The album titled I Still Believe is supposed to be Lyfe’s last studio album. Even though this is a very solid album from a very talented artist that writes and sings from the heart about real life situations; however, the label Warner/Asylum did not treat the listening session the way that you would expect for an artist of Lyfe’s caliber. Most listening sessions caters to the media to help ensure good press and to help with sales, I personally don’t think those were the thoughts of the label. I noticed three specific things missing that are normally complimentary when it comes to a major label listening session: food, snacks and an open bar.
If this was or is Lyfe’s last album, then the label made sure that he did not get a hero’s send off. I hope that the people and fans that support good music support this album. Lyfe deserved a better send off. Just my opinion.
In case you missed the sold out Wale concert at Centerstage in Atlanta (08.25.2010) you missed a great show. As usual Ozone magazine was in the building and we’re the first to bring the exclusive video of the show.
Wale had the crowd going crazy but when he brought out J Cole out to perform their duet “Beautiful Bliss” the crowd went bonkers!

ON THE ROAD TO 8 MILE
Atlanta was the final of seven stops on the road to 8 mile. Emcees DNA (New York), Nocando (San Francisco), Philly Swain (Philadelphia), Jonny Storm (Orlando), Killa Chris (Greensboro, NC), Phranchyze (Houston) and Headkrack (Atlanta) will join the Detroit winner, who will be selected live on-air this Saturday on the D’s Hip Hop and R&B station, 98 WJLB. All eight emcees will step on stage on August 26th at legendary St. Andrews Hall in Eminem’s hometown…where it all began.
The competition was judged by platinum producer, Don Cannon, Red Bull EmSee ’09 champion, Man Child, and hip-hop pioneer, Bun B. At the end of the night it was Headkrack who came out on top after all three rounds and will represent the ATL in Detroit next week at the Red Bull EmSee finals which will be judged by arguably one of the best freestyle rappers of our time – Eminem. “As soon as I heard [about Red Bull EmSee] I wanted to be down,” exclaims Headkrack. “To me this was more challenging having to freestyle and make things up as its happening.”
We got great video footage from the Emsee Battle.
