T.I. and Tiny Arrested In L.A.

By admin • Sep 2nd, 2010 • Category: News

According to reports by TMZ, T.I. and his wife Tiny were arrested last night in Los Angeles for possession of a controlled substance. More information is below, as well as pictures in the cut. Booking documents via Radar Online are here. This doesn’t look good for the King of the South.

Law enforcement sources tell us L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over the multi-platinum selling rapper and his wife in a Maybach on Sunset Boulevard around 10:18PM. Deputies say they smelled marijuana.

When searching the vehicle cops found a controlled substance. Law enforcement sources tell us the controlled substance was not cocaine, but rather the class of controlled substance that triggered the arrest includes methamphetamines and ecstasy.

The couple just got married on July 30 in Miami, and T.I. — real name Clifford Harris Jr. — is on probation after doing seven months in prison on federal weapons charges.

Law enforcement sources say both T.I. and Tameka were booked on felony possession of a controlled substance.

Law enforcement sources say both T.I. and Tameka were booked on felony possession of a controlled substance.

They were released on $10,000 bail.

As we previously reported, T.I. was released from federal prison back in December — where he served 7 months behind bars for illegally possessing machine guns and silencers.

Law enforcement confirms … T.I. is still on probation from the gun conviction, which means last night’s arrest could qualify as a violation of his probation … and he could be sent back to prison.

Ozonemag.com Interview: Rocko

By admin • Sep 1st, 2010 • Category: Interviews

Rocko

Rocko hasn’t been on the scene much lately, until a few months ago, when he returned with his new single “Maybe” and dropped a mixtape with DJ Scream. At one point we were hearing more about his private life than his music. But now he’s back with new business ventures, a new label, and a start fresh. Rocko recently told Ozonemag.com about what he’s been up to in the last year. Maybe he’ll surprise you, maybe he won’t, but you better believe he’s still doing him.

Rapper Retirement Plan

By admin • Aug 23rd, 2010 • Category: Uncategorized

cham

For rappers not concerned with being labeled a snitch or working for the Feds, the Department of Justice might have a viable retirement option for them. Currently, the Atlanta DEA office is looking to hire 9 ebonics experts “to help monitor, translate, and transcribe the secretly recorded conversations of subjects of narcotics investigations.” In fact, the feds are having such a hard time keeping up with the current street lingo that they spend about 70 million a year on translation services alone, an amount which seems quite a bit more than what consumers spend on rap albums nowadays. Under the cut is a list of the 9 Atlanta rappers we think should be the first in line to apply.

Where is Mike Jones? Paul Wall Answers

By admin • Aug 19th, 2010 • Category: Features

paul and mike

JB spoke to Paul Wall for the next issue of OZONE and in the interview Paul had some pretty interesting things to say in regards to Mike Jones’ whereabouts.

Where is Mike Jones?
I don’t know. Ever since he left Swishahouse I haven’t really kept track of him. I really didn’t know him too well before he came to Swishahouse. I’d say he dug his own grave. He lied to a lot of people, he turned his back on a lot of people, and he burned a lot of bridges. I don’t want to kick a dog while he’s down and I don’t wanna just talk shit about him, but I think a lot of people were happy when [Trae] punched him and knocked him out. But at the same time, a lot of people were mad at Trae too. It’s not like Mike Jones is the gangsta of the year, so in my opinion, you don’t really get points for beating up Mike Jones. Some people say it was a publicity stunt on Trae’s part, but I disagree with that totally because I know Trae and he doesn’t really do publicity stunts like that. If Trae feels disrespected, he’s going to address it. I think that’s what happened. If somebody disrespects you, [punching them] is not always the answer, but it’s definitely sometimes the answer. So I don’t feel like Trae was wrong in any form or fashion. Trae doesn’t do publicity stunts. But like I said, Mike Jones burned his bridge with a lot of people, so he probably had a knock out coming from somewhere at some time anyway. I’m positive of that.

Ozonemag.com Interview: Jody Breeze

By admin • Aug 17th, 2010 • Category: Interviews

jody1

Between 2005 and 2006, 19-year-old Jody Breeze was a phenomenon. He released his mixtape, Stackin’ Paper, and it received hood critic acclaim. He was the first artist to sign to Jazze Pha’s imprint, Sho Nuff Records. Diddy’s Bad Boy camp tapped him to be one-fourth of Atlanta’s rap supergroup, Boyz N Da Hood. Finally, he was working as a ghostwriter for a number of big name artists, including Diddy on Press Play. He had it made and was bound to blow, right? Not exactly. Due to numerous factors, from contractual obligations, to ego battles within Boyz, to just being young and unfamiliar with the business, he’s still working towards that goal that he was so close to five years ago. With the recent release of his newest mixtape, Welcome to the Future, and the launch of his own Young Gunna Records, Jody Breeze is set to remind the public that he’s still got that fire in him.

Jeezy Why U Mad?

By admin • Aug 10th, 2010 • Category: Blogs, News

middle_jeezy_01

By now, Hip Hop fans have had a chance to hear Jeezy’s “Death Before Dishonor (B.M.F.)” freestyle from his upcoming 1,000 Grams Vol. 1 mixtape, dropping Thursday with DJ Scream. The track, released last night is over Rick Ross’ “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast),” and it’s being referred to as a Rick Ross diss, due to a couple lines that maybe sneak disses aimed at Ross like, “How you blowing money fast? You don’t know the crew/Oh you part of the fam? Shit I never knew…” Well, Ross’ song is called “Blowin Money Fast” and he was never affiliated with B.M.F., although he is shouting out to the Black Mafia Family throughout the song. It might be a diss, it might not.

Ross diss or not, Rick Ross comrade and Maybach Music artist Torch took offense to Jeezy’s words and brewing beef with the Maybach boss, and took to Twitter (the first place that most rappers take their beefs nowadays) to pose the question and hashtag the topic #jeezywhyumad.

Below are a series of tweets via @TORCHCCC beginning with the tweet:

Armed Federal Agents Raid Young Buck’s Home

By admin • Aug 3rd, 2010 • Category: News

young-buck-fitted

After years of back and forth with the IRS, agents showed up at the Nashville home of former G-Unit artist, Young Buck, seizing assets like recording equipment, jewelry, furniture, and his platinum wall plaques. The action was taken due to a $300,000 past tax bill. Although Buck’s lawyers filed in court last month to protect the rapper’s assets, the situation was apparently too far gone to save everything. Armed Federal Agents showed up to the house this morning and rang the doorbell, using a shotgun to warn the rapper against any interference with the seizure proceedings. Buck was able to keep his vehicles and his home.

After what was obviously a tense situation, Young Buck remains saddened but relatively unscathed and reflective….
