“Come Get It”
While the relevance (and image) of female MCs in rap remains to be one of the most polarizing discussions in Hip Hop, that still doesn’t mean that you should ignore a dope one when she comes along. That said Oakland-born, Las Vegas-made is worth at least a listen.
Though its obvious that Lady L.U.S.T. isn’t attempting to fit in the stereotype that female MCs need to dress a certain way or rap about certain things, her music sounds strong enough for it to be taken seriously, no matter how she looks.
On songs like “Ms. Ceily Complex” (inspired by the character from The Color Purple) L.U.S.T. confronts stereotypes and dismisses the notion that she has to change who she is in order to have her music heard.

“Ms. Ceily Complex”
Her lyrics show that she takes the craft seriously, and her content lets you know that she indeed has something to say, and isn’t afraid of saying it.

“The Validation”
Lady L.U.S.T. is definitely a dope MC, period. And its a fact that she isn’t the ONLY dope female rapper out there either. Hopefully someone will listen hard enough and give her a shot.

Listened to the songs on the album. She sounds great. We need females like her in the industry to offset the barbie image.
